BLOTCH, Eva Slavens

Greencastle – Eva M. Blotch, 76, died Friday in Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle. She was a resident of Greencastle. She was born July 10, 1914, in Putnam County. Her parents were Homer Slavens and Ada Newman Slavens. She married Gilbert Blotch in 1945. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Ron Block of Franklin; a daughter, Sherry Cox of Greencastle; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. She graduated from Bell Union HS in 1932. She retired from Ridpath Elementary School in Greencastle where she worked in the cafeteria in 1979.  She also worked at Jones Elementary School in Greencastle. She attended Limedale Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Thomas and the Rev. Troy Trout will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Falls Cemetery in Putnam County.
